About BillSnap
BillSnap exists to take the tedium out of the one document every business deals with: the invoice.
Our origin
BillSnap started from a simple frustration: invoices are the lifeblood of every business, yet the tools to create and process them are either buried in expensive accounting software, locked behind sign-up walls, or asking you to upload sensitive financial data to someone else's server.
We tested every free invoice generator we could find. Every single one had a catch — watermarks, limited exports, forced accounts, or invisible paywalls that kicked in when you tried to download. And on the other side, the businesses receiving invoices were drowning in data-entry hours just to get their supplier bills into a spreadsheet.
So we built something different: a free, no-sign-up invoice generator that runs entirely in your browser (your data never leaves your device), paired with a human-verified done-for-you service for the businesses that receive more invoices than they can process.
That pairing — send-side tools and receive-side processing — is what makes BillSnap different from every other invoice tool out there.
What we build
BillSnap serves two jobs around the same document:
For people who send invoices — freelancers, trades, consultants, and small businesses — we offer a free invoice generator that produces clean, professional PDFs with no watermark, no account, and no limit. The tool runs 100% in your browser using your device's local processing power. We never see your invoices.
For people who receive invoices — bookkeepers, accounting firms, construction companies, property managers, and any business with a mountain of supplier bills — we offer done-for-you invoice processing. You forward your invoices to a private inbox; we extract, verify, and return clean data in the format your accounting software uses.
How we make money
Our free tools are supported by display advertising — that's it. No data selling, no lead generation for other services, no hidden charges. The free invoice generator will always be free.
Our done-for-you processing is a paid service priced by invoice volume. This is what keeps the lights on and lets us keep the free tools genuinely free, not "free-until-you-try-to-use-it" freeware.
Our commitment to accuracy
Our tools and tax figures are built directly from official sources. When rules change — tax brackets, EI rates, CPP thresholds, multi-currency reference rates — we update them, and we note the last-update date so you can verify it's current.
For our done-for-you service, accuracy isn't optional. Every flagged field is human-verified before delivery. Automated extraction catches the easy part; the last 5% is where professional bookkeepers earn their fee, and where we earn ours.
Our approach to privacy
The free tools run client-side. Your invoice data, your business details, your client lists — none of it leaves your browser. Your business details are remembered only in your browser's local storage so you don't have to re-enter them. You can clear this at any time.
For the paid processing service, your invoices are used solely to produce your output. We don't sell, share, or retain invoice contents beyond what's needed to deliver your data and support the service. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
What's next
We're actively expanding both sides of BillSnap. On the free-tools side: more document converters, more templates, and more multi-currency support. On the done-for-you side: deeper integrations with QuickBooks and Xero, plus direct API access for higher-volume clients.
